About Me
Hi! My name is Demar. I am a labor and delivery nurse by day and a watercolor artist by night. Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, I discovered my love for art through classes in high school. However, life took me down a different path towards nursing and motherhood before I was able to fully explore my artistic side again. After putting painting on hold to focus on my family and career in nursing, I finally picked up a brush again 14 years after high school. Trying watercolor for the first time ever has reignited my love for creating and I have been immersing myself in the world of watercolor ever since. From watching hours of YouTube tutorials to spending hours experimenting with different techniques, brushes, paint and paper, I have found joy in painting all sorts of things. But it is in capturing the powerful and vulnerable moments of women giving birth and the quiet moments after that truly feed my soul. As a labor and delivery nurse, I am privileged to be a part of these beautiful, challenging, and deeply emotional moments in the birthing room. Translating those emotions onto paper with a brush has become my personal mission and feeds my passion for creating. Through my art, I hope to convey the strength, beauty, and raw emotion of this incredible birthing experience. In both my nursing and my art, I am driven by a desire to help others and create meaningful connections. I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passions and make a difference in people's lives every day. Thank you for joining me on this journey of creativity and compassion.
